Lamberto Boranga returns to goal at 83: "Biological age is what matters."

Lamberto Boranga , former goalkeeper for Perugia, Fiorentina, and Cesena, will return to the field at 83 with Trevana , an Umbrian First Division team. "I started playing in Trevi," Boranga told Corriere dell'Umbria , "and since I was too good in attack, they put me in goal."
The idea came during the presentation of his bookIt was in Trevi, during a recent conference where he was presenting his book "Parare la vecchiaia," that the idea of returning to the game arose. "They suggested I go back to where I started, and I said, 'Go on, let's try.'"
Boranga and biological ageA physician, a Masters long jump champion, and an active advocate for promoting sport as a health tool, Boranga said three key ingredients are at the heart of his athletic longevity: "Sex, exercise, and healthy eating." He added: "Until I was 70, I was a lion. Then I had some meniscus problems, but for me, that's not my chronological age. My biological age is between 58 and 62, and on my best days, even 50."
